Manchester United staged a dramatic comeback to beat AS Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford, while reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain produced a record-breaking performance in a 6-0 demolition of Villarreal as the UEFA Champions League league phase continued on Tuesday night.

United came from two goals down to secure their first victory since September 10, ending a nine-match winless run and reviving their European campaign.

The hosts endured a difficult first half after Roma took control through Matías Soulé, who opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Donyell Malen doubled the visitors' advantage from the penalty spot six minutes later.

Roma went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead, leaving United with a difficult task in the second half.

However, Bruno Fernandes reignited the contest by converting a retaken penalty in the 58th minute before Matheus Cunha turned the game around with two goals in the closing stages.

The Brazilian forward struck in the 83rd and 86th minutes to complete the comeback and hand United all three points.

The result ended United's frustrating run without a victory, while Roma were left to rue their inability to protect a two-goal advantage.

PSG make history in Villarreal rout

In Spain, reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain sent a strong message to their European rivals with a commanding 6-0 victory away to Villarreal.

Luis Enrique's side delivered a devastating attacking display, scoring four goals in the opening 17 minutes to record the fastest four-goal sequence in Champions League history.

João Neves opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Désiré Doué added a second three minutes later. Senny Mayulu made it 3-0 in the 13th minute, with Fabián Ruiz completing the remarkable first-half scoring burst in the 17th minute.

Ruiz struck again five minutes after the restart before David Boly completed the rout in the 78th minute.

The emphatic victory maintained PSG's perfect record in the competition, leaving the defending champions top of the league-phase standings with 12 points from four matches.

Bayern overcome Atletico as Barcelona impress

Bayern Munich also secured an important away victory, beating Atletico Madrid 2-0 at the Metropolitano Stadium.

After a closely contested first half, Lennart Karl broke the deadlock in the 54th minute before Konrad Laimer doubled Bayern's advantage in the 74th minute.

The victory ended Bayern's run of consecutive draws and strengthened their position in the league phase.

At Camp Nou, Barcelona delivered a convincing 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the eighth minute before Raphinha struck twice in the second half, finding the net in the 52nd and 64th minutes to seal a comfortable victory for the Spanish side.

Inter Milan were equally impressive, recording a 3-0 away victory against Feyenoord. LASK also enjoyed a convincing night, thrashing Slovan Bratislava 4-0.

Bodø/Glimt and Lille played out a goalless draw to share the points.
